Germany officially confirms shipment of Leopard tanks to Ukraine

The German government assures that it acts in a "coordinated manner" with the rest of the international allies

German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz finally announced on Wednesday the decision to make Leopard 2 tanks available to Ukraine, according to a government spokesman in Berlin.

"This decision follows our known line of supporting Ukraine as best we can. We act internationally in a very coordinated manner," spokesman Steffen Hebestreit added.

The decision had already been advanced yesterday by the weekly Der Spiegel. In principle, at least one tank company will be delivered; that is, 14 armored vehicles.
